Seungwon Lee Appointed as Netmarble’s New Co-CEO

The world's leading mobile gaming company, Netmarble Corp., announced today that Seungwon Lee, who currently serves as Chief Global Officer, has been appointed as the new co-CEO. He will be officially appointed by the board of commissioners in February 2020.

Following his appointment, Lee and the current CEO, Young-sig Kwon, will serve as co-CEOs leading Netmarble. Kwon will focus more on Netmarble’s gaming business, while Lee will oversee the company’s overall management and global operations.

Lee’s new appointment as co-CEO is expected to strengthen the company’s competitiveness in its core gaming business and further expand its global operations.

Lee, a graduate of Seoul National University who holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, previously served as Head of Korea Marketing at Yahoo from 2005 to 2006. Since 2007, he has served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Netmarble Games (formerly known as CJ Internet) and Senior Vice President of Global Strategy at Netmarble Games (formerly known as the CJ ENM Game Division). As Chief Global Officer, Lee has led Netmarble’s overall global gaming business since 2014 and contributed to the success of Netmarble’s expansion in global markets.
